Have you heard of the Indiana Learning Lab? Learning Lab offers many opportunities for resources, workshops, a live help desk, and ways to earn Professional Growth Points.

There is also something NEW for administrators called the District Admin Feature. This new tool allows administrators to send notifications to teachers, create private resources and collections, and run reports to track resource completion. If you are a leader at your school corporation, explore the following resources to learn more about how you can begin using this feature:

Stacey Schmidt
Superintendent

Stacey Schmidt is the Superintendent at Porter Township School Corporation. She has been there since July of 2012. Stacey and her team just opened an early learning center and welcomed 125 three and four year old's to the center this year. This project is something that they had been working on for the past three years.

Stacey has many goals for Porter Township. One is building out a mentoring program this year with peer mentoring and rebuilding their teacher-mentoring program with a focus on their culture and climate. She is also focused on their Wolf Pack, creating a dynamic, student-focused learning environment that focuses on the growth of students.

We asked Stacey what she finds the most rewarding about her job. She shared, “Empowering others to use their skills to their fullest potential, making lives better for kids and families.”

In her spare time, Stacey enjoys spending time with her family. Her boys play soccer, swim, and participate in BMX racing. She also likes to read and spend time outdoors. Some of her favorite outdoor activities include hiking and paddle boarding.
