Early Literacy Support

Two new screeners and one new diagnostic assessment House Bill 1590 now allows two of the screeners to be provided using funding under the Formative (Interim) Assessment Grant. (The list can be found in Appendix A of 2023-2024 Dyslexia Programming Guidance for Schools.) Schools must select one vendor to administer the universal dyslexia screener to ensure students are identified using a research-based measure.  Schools are required to report dyslexia information for the previous school year on their website by Saturday, July 15. This information should include the dyslexia intervention programs that were used during the previous school year to assist students with dyslexia, the number of students during the school year who received dyslexia intervention, and the total number of students identified with dyslexia.
